1931 1st American edition. The Secret Of High Eldersham - Miles Burton
SECRET OF HIGH ELDERSHAM was first issued for Crime Club Ltd. by London publisher W. Collins Sons & Co. in 1930. This Mystery League printing was the first American edition. The novel concludes on page 275 but pages 277-286 offer The Mystery League's preview of the Gwen Bristow (1903-1980) and Bruce Manning (1902-1965) novel THE GUTENBERG MURDERS.

Mystery League books were unique in that they were sold through United Cigar Stores and Whelan Drug Stores, instead of bookstores. Now noted for their dramatic period Art Deco style dust jackets, usually by artist Gene (Eugene) Thurston, who signed his covers as simply: 'Gene'. [unfortunately, this copy is lacking jacket and is priced accordingly.] First Edition.
